Obituary
HUNT, Delle Lorraine Jeffree. Aged 86. Formerly of Bargara. Passed away on July 8, 2021.
It is with very deep sorrow that on behalf of my siblings I announce the death of our darling and beautiful mother, Delle Lorraine Jeffree Hunt

Our mother was born July 20, 1934, to Harold Martson Jeffree and Catherine Jean Johnson at Hillpine Avenue, Kogarah, NSW Australia. Delle had two younger brothers Graham William Jeffree and Howard John Jeffree. She attended school in Kogarah and later went on to work in the family bakery, Deloraine Cakes, where she learned many of the skills that would serve her well in her future career.
At age 20, Delle left Australia to immigrate to Canada. This was to be the beginning of many amazing travels Delle would enjoy throughout her life. In 1956, she married Dell Crafts Hunt in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They resided in Waterflow, New Mexico where their first son Howard Dell Hunt was born. In 1958 they returned to Australia where their remaining children were born. In 1968 Delle returned to the United States where she divorced and moved her young family to Orem, Utah. Delle attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She went on to teach Home Economics, including food science and nutrition, and needle arts, at Orem Senior High School. In 1992 Delle retired from teaching and returned to Australia to live with her father and help him in his final years.
Delle had a wonderful spirit of adventure. She travelled much of the world and encouraged her children to do the same. She loved a good round of scrabble, a rousing game of cards, old black and white films, and colorful food. Delle spent many years following in her parent’s footsteps doing family history and was excellent at keeping in touch with family and friends. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and over the years served in many callings. Sadly, in more recent years, Delle developed vascular dementia which robbed her of her memories and now her time with us.
Delle is preceded in death by her mother and father, by her son, Howard Dell, and by her brother, Graham William Jeffree.
Delle leaves behind her loving children, Dana Forsythe, Shane Hunt (Sally), Renae Hunt, and Lisa Jane Kerby. Also, her adored grandchildren, Jennifer Forsythe, Jeffree Forsythe, Claire Durbin, Graham Hunt, Brandon Hunt and great grandchildren Hailey Parker and Kelsey Parker.

There are many people to thank for their kindnesses over these many years who visited, sent cards and flowers, or called, but we especially wish to thank Jan Corfield and Kete Paech for their years of gentle and loving service to Delle and to our family. We love and appreciate you and we will keep you as ours forever.

Mostly we wish to thank our dearest sister, Lisa Jane, for her selfless dedication these last 8 years to the care and comfort of our much beloved mother. Because of that care, my siblings and I have had many opportunities to serve our mother in her decline and it has been an absolute honor and privilege to be able to give that level of service to the one who loved us the most. There are no words of gratitude that can adequately express our appreciation of Lisa Jane’s beautiful, loving, and devoted care of our mother, Delle Lorraine. She is truly a gift to our family, and we love her.
To our beautiful mother – Mum, we love you, we adore you, and we will tenderly hold you close in our hearts just as you held us.
Rest well, sweet Mummy.

Post A Condolence
